Shows the course of the Danube as the great river crosses regions of the Balkans. From Switzerland to the Black Sea. Areas shown include, Hungary, Transylvania, Walachia (Romania), which Thrace is labeled Romania , Bulgaria, ( unusual shape ) Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Italy, Bosnia, Albania , Greece, parts of Asia Minor. Map extends south to Malta on the left and Crete on the right. As with Homann maps many cities, towns, villages, castles, bridges, rivers, mountains are shown in great detail. A beautiful cartouche shows a Pegasus above the title with classical figures on either side. Dragon below. A smaller cartouche on the left shows The mouth of the Danube.
