French region of Guienne & Gascogne. Shows the wine growing region with cities like Bordeaux. c1665-1680
This map was acquired as Blaeu and may be by the Blaeu family. However after a fire destroyed the establishment. Plates that survived were sold to others including De Wit. So it could be by De Wit. The dates we have given overlaps either publishers. Large cartouche with cherub’s holding ribbons around coat of arms, on left, smaller on right. Below two satyr’s flank the title cartouche and miles scale.

Hand colored copper plate engraved.Size 24 x 21 1/2. Very large size. It is unsigned and b, and on verso.
Condition is good. Some minor tears along extreme edges of the margins.
