This hand-drawn map of Water Street is a highly uncommon item from Washington D.C., originating from an exhibit of a Supreme Court case between 1879 and 1899. It was part of the MORRIS v. UNITED STATES case, which involved property rights disputes among multiple landowners, particularly concerning reclaimed land and dredging along the Potomac River. Covering an area of 600 acres west of the Washington Monument, including notable landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and Potomac Park, the map illustrates the contested territory. Despite its age, it remains in overall very good condition, with authenticity guaranteed. It measures 9 inches by 10 1/2 inches.
