This map covers the entirety of North Africa, stretching from the Nile River to Morocco. Created by R. Bonne and Raynal between 1775 and 1780, it is part of the collection “Histoire Philosophique et Politique des Etablissemens,” an important Enlightenment work with contributions from Diderot. Due to its exploration of various topics such as religion, commerce, slavery, and contemporary political and social issues, the publication was banned in France, leading to its release in Geneva, Switzerland.
